Dr. Lisa Miller has an active practice as an independent
consultant, coach, educator and speaker. She has multiple healthcare and
not-for-profit clients for whom she consults in areas such as leadership
development, service excellence, quality improvement, change management, and
team building. Dr. Miller uses a strengths-based approach to her consulting
and actively employs the theories of Appreciative Inquiry, Positive
Organizational Scholarship and Transformational Leadership. Dr. Miller began her career in healthcare as a critical care
nurse and has held many leadership and management positions. She was
recruited by Baylor College of Medicine and The Methodist Hospital to
coordinate a major NIH breast cancer clinical trial. She co-authored articles
for the Annals of Internal Medicine,
New England Journal of Medicine, Science and Circulation. Prior to starting her current independent consulting practice,
Lisa served as the Vice President of Clinical Quality Improvement and Service
Excellence for California Pacific Medical Center. During her tenure, CPMC
received multiple awards and recognition for the Quality Improvement program.
She was personally awarded the Presidents’ Award and Award for Excellence in
recognition of her contributions to the medical center. Service, Quality Improvement, Leadership Development, and
Coaching are areas of particular expertise for Lisa. She has served on
statewide steering committees for patient satisfaction and quality. She
co-authored The California Institute for Health Systems Performance (CIHSP) Compendium of Suggested Practices for
Preventing and Reducing Medication Errors Improvement. Lisa is a master
facilitator for multiple nationally recognized training programs. Dr. Miller earned her Doctorate in Education at USF in
Organization and Leadership Studies. Her dissertation title was Peer Coaching and the Perceived Impact on
Fostering Positive Relationships, Knowledge Creation and Sharing Among
Nursing Personnel. Dr. Miller is a member of Sigma Theta Tau
International Honor Society of Nursing and Phi Delta Kappa International
Honor Society for Education. She lives with her family in Mill Valley, is a
mother of two, an avid hiker and a competitive tennis player. |
